Abstract
My interest in critical race feminism has developed through various lenses of inquiry. I, for a while, have been interested in the relationship between race, gender, and class my academic background is in Women's Studies. Since entering in to a program, which focuses on urban education, I have become even more interested in how researchers deal with those intersections on a societal level, which influences educational institutions. Finally, my interest in critical race feminism stems from previous conversations in doctoral classes with professors and student-colleagues on the work of Derrick Bell, and his contributions ot the area of critical race theory. Bell's work serves as the essential framework for the ever-evolving field of critical race feminism.
