Description
This is the third in a series of interviews with Dr. John J. Halki, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview, Dr. Halki continues his discussion of his career in the Air Force after his tenure as Commander of the USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson. He describes his next assignment as Medical Inspector General of the Air Force, his retirement from the Air Force, and his decision to accept the appointment as Medical Director of the Frederick A. White Center for Ambulatory Care and then as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology.
Dr. Halki next turns to an analysis of the leadership/management styles of the founding Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. John R. Beljan, and his successor, Dr. William D. Sawyer.
In the third part of this interview, Dr. Halki begins a discussion of his appointment as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology and his first priorities as Chairman.
