Description

This is the second in a series of interviews with Dr. John J. Halki, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview, Dr. Halki continues the discussion, begun in the first interview, of the integration of medical education programs between the USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson and the Wright State University School of Medicine. Specific aspects of the discussion include: the structure of the affiliation/integration agreement between the USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson and the Wright State University School of Medicine; the residencies and selectives established by the affiliation/integration agreement; how the integrated programs fit-in with the regional mission requirements of the Medical Center; and how the residencies and selectives have developed.

Dr. Halki next talks about the role of the Air Force physician in the faculty of the Wright State University School of Medicine and the development and function of the School of Medicine's Office of Air Force Affairs.

The final portion of this interview focuses on Dr. Halki's responsibilities as Commander of the USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson and medical education in the Air Force.
