Abstract
This paper studies the tire damping effect on the ride performance of a vehicle equipped with active suspension. Instead of first-order equation, a second-order approach is used for controller design. Both full-state and velocity-feedback concepts are considered in the system. Although a different control algorithm is used, however, simulation results are found similar to those obtained by previous research, which verifies the positive effect of tire damping on improving ride quality.
