Abstract
Melt processes YBa2Cu3O7−x-silver composite material with large randomly oriented grains was investigated by DC magnetization and AC susceptibility measurements. The results yield a uniform bulk critical current density (Jc) of 1.24×104 A/cm2 at zero magnetic field (H=0) and at temperaure T=75 K for YBa2Cu3O7−x+5 wt.% Ag samples. Field and temperature dependences of Jc are discussed and compared with those in YBa2Cu3O7−x material not containing Ag. Also, novel melt-textured method for preparing YBa2Cu3O7−x bulk material doped by 5, 10, 20 and 30 weight percent of metallic silver is proposed.
