Scholarship in Medicine is a WrightCurriculum longitudinal module in which medical students conduct a scientific investigation in one of five research areas: Arts in Medicine, Basic Science, Clinical Science, Medical Education, and Population, Public, and Global Health Research. The Scholarship in Medicine module provides online and limited face-to-face instruction in a variety of research topics including research methods, statistics, the ethical conduct of research, and critical appraisal of research literature, and requires Boonshoft School of Medicine undergraduate medical students to complete a mentored scholarly project before they graduate. Students will collect and/or use data to test and verify hypotheses and address questions about biomedical phenomena and how it contributes to the body of scientific knowledge to improve the health of patients and/or populations.
