    Description

    The photograph shows the annual military encampment of Miami Military Institute, 1901. The photo depicts "company street", two rows of tents facing each other, with a row of crossed rifles between them. Cadets in service uniform are standing at attention in front of tents. Three tents in the background are set up perpendicular to the cadet's tents and Orvon Graff Brown is standing beside two unidentified men that are sitting on a bench. Orvon Graff Brown was the founder and president of the Miami Military Institute. Annual encampments were referred to as "Camp MMI". This photograph is from an album in the Martha McClellan Brown Collection.
