Organizational Ethics Development: Implications for Human Resource Professional

Abstract
Recent organizational ethics development trends have expanded the responsibility of human resource professionals. Research findings support the following: (a) Large organizations are more likely to expand the human resource professional role by offering diverse ethics-related programs; (b) the use of the new ethical climate research tool, the Organizational Moral Development Profile (OMDP), confirms that human resource professionals are likely to face organizations operating at a conventional level of moral reasoning and (c) human resource professionals that have institutionalized a wide range of ethics-related programs will be more likely to perceive a higher level of moral development in their organization. Finally, the multiple implications for human resource professionals are analyzed and discussed.
